Fayetteville’s Wizard Weekend

Wizards and muggles alike will gather in Fayetteville West Virginia for Fayetteville’s Wizard Weekend January 24-26. Join us to celebrate a magical weekend as Fayetteville transforms into a magical village. The majority of activities will take place outdoors and involve walking around town. Participants will want to check the weather before attending to dress accordingly. This year we will have more self-guided activities where groups can explore things on their own including a wizard-themed scavenger hunt through town. We will have falconry and Roy Moose with the Snakes of West Virginia Presentation, multiple ticketed feast events, a yule ball and more! Stay tuned for a full schedule of 2025 events including our annual quidditch tournament, ticketed feasts, workshops, themed crafts and shopping and more!

Join us Saturday on Court Street in front of the courthouse for a Wizard Makers Market. Local artists will be set up on court street from 11am – 4pm along with food trucks. Ringing Rocks Mint booth will offer custom Horcrux Pendants to immortalize your own magic in a custom-made medallion while you watch. They will have an assortment of genuine gemstones to select from. Forge your horcrux out of copper, sterling silver or 14k gold during the magic makers market downtown!

Guests have the option to choose either Jan. 24th or Jan. 25th. Reservations are required. Reserve your seat by way of owl or call 304-382-7509. Reservation deadline is January 23rd. Yule Ball after Party Southside Junction Tap House
Southside Junction Tap House is hosting the arty with Wizard DJ Imagi-Nate. There will be a cover charge of $5 in advance and $10 at the door (18+) January 25 7:30pm-10pm.This event will likely sell out; tickets will go on sale January 10th at noon. Grab your wands and your dancing shoes because it’s time to conjure up an unforgettable night at the Yule Ball After Party! Wizard DJ extraordinaire Imagi-NATE is ready to brew up an epic cauldron of old-school throwbacks and mashups, spiced with magical wizarding soundtracks that’ll keep you spellbound on the dance floor.

Join Community Captain Jacki during Fayetteville’s Wizarding Weekend to explore the Forbidden Forest! Meet at the Fayetteville Park Loop Trail for an approximately J A 1.1 mile hike on the Park Loop Trail. Meet at Fayetteville Town Park near the trailhead. Headlamps will be provided.

Please do not attend programs if you are not feeling well. Regarding Community Captain Programs and groups of children: All Active SWV Community Captain programs are family friendly; children are invited to attend with the expectation of a parent/guardian ratio of 1 guardian adult to 5 children. It is our expectation for larger groups of children (e.g. Scouts, youth groups, etc), that an adult to child ratio of 1 adult to 5 children be observed in ages 5 and under, and 1 adult to 10 children be observed for ages 5 and above. Get Active in the Park is an innovative partnership between the National Park Service and Active Southern West Virginia. Trained Community Captains deliver free, beginner-level instructional programs to the New River Gorge region. Get Active in the Park empowers our community to see outdoor spaces as a place for health and wellness to take place.
