Whether you’re new to climbing or looking to get back on the rock, this session offers a supportive environment and expert guidance to help you challenge yourself and have fun. What to Expect: • A community climbing experience suitable for all skill levels • Professional instruction and safety guidance • A welcoming, beginner-friendly atmosphere How to Prepare: • Wear flexible, athletic clothing and closed-toe shoes • Bring water, snacks, and sun protection • Climbing gear will be provided, but you may bring your own if you have it • Meet at Waterstone Outdoors at 4:00 PM for gear check and directions to the climbing site

It is our expectation for larger groups of children (e.g. Scouts, youth groups, etc), that an adult to child ratio of 1 adult to 5 children be observed in ages 5 and under, and 1 adult to 10 children be observed for ages 5 and above. Get Active In The Park, a partnership between Active SWV and the National Park Service. Get Active in the Park activities are perfect for grand-families, groups with multiple interests, and individuals. All are welcome! Youth are encouraged to attend but must be accompanied by a guardian and the adult must stay on site during the activity. Get Active in the Park is an innovative partnership between the National Park Service and Active Southern West Virginia. Trained Community Captains deliver free, beginner-level instructional programs to the New River Gorge region. Get Active in the Park empowers our community to see outdoor spaces as a place for health and wellness to take place.
