DESCRIPTION:Come help start off the Spring climbing season and meet the folks that are working to help maintain and advocate for the crags and trails in the New River Gorge and surrounding area \n\nAccessFund is a national advocacy organization that inspires and mobilizes the climbing community to protect sustainable access and conserve the climbing environment. Each year\, two climbing stewards spend the summer in the New River Gorge\, advocating for the land and serving as a bridge between climbers and the crags they love. \n\nNRAC (New River Alliance of Climbers) is a nonprofit dedicated to protecting natural resources\, educating climbers of all skill levels about stewardship and environmental responsibility\, and celebrating the climbing community.

DESCRIPTION:Location: Waterstone Outdoors (meet-up location) Address: 101 East Wiseman Ave\, Fayetteville\, WV 25840\, Fayette County When: March 22 at 4pm About This Event: Join us for an exciting afternoon of rock climbing hosted by Active SWV and Waterstone Outdoors! Whether you’re new to climbing or looking to get back on the rock\, this session offers a supportive environment and expert guidance to help you challenge yourself and have fun. What to Expect: • A community climbing experience suitable for all skill levels • Professional instruction and safety guidance • A welcoming\, beginner-friendly atmosphere How to Prepare: • Wear flexible\, athletic clothing and closed-toe shoes • Bring water\, snacks\, and sun protection • Climbing gear will be provided\, but you may bring your own if you have it • Meet at Waterstone Outdoors at 4:00 PM for gear check and directions to the climbing site \n***If you are having trouble registering for this program\, the event is likely FULL and we cannot accommodate additional participants. Please email volunteer@activeswv.com with any questions. \nAGES 12 AND UP \nRegistration to any Active SWV free programming indicates acceptance of our liability waiver for every adult and child attending. Get Active in the Park is an innovative partnership between the National Park Service and Active Southern West Virginia. Trained Community Captains deliver free\, beginner-level instructional programs to the New River Gorge region. Get Active in the Park empowers our community to see outdoor spaces as a place for health and wellness to take place.
