DESCRIPTION:Formed in North Carolina and shaped equally by the Appalachian Mountains and the Piedmont\, Steep Canyon Rangers have long occupied a singular space in American roots music. From their earliest recordings\, the band demonstrated an unusual ability to honor traditional bluegrass forms while allowing contemporary songwriting\, literary influence\, and regional storytelling to seep naturally into the music. Over time\, this balance earned them both bluegrass credibility and broader Americana acclaim\, culminating in a Best Bluegrass Album GRAMMY Award for 2013’s Nobody Knows You\, additional nominations for Rare Bird Alert (2012) and North Carolina Songbook (2020)\, and an induction into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame. \nColby T. Helms\nOn the day he turned 16\, he bought his first car\, a stick-shift Jeep Wrangler\, and hit the road to play anywhere people would have him. A veteran performer in the Blue Ridge/Appalachian Mountains region by age 18\, Colby wrote the songs that would become his upcoming semi-autobiographical concept album\, ‘Tales of Misfortune’\, as a senior in high school. SUMMARY:Keller Williams' Grateful Grass with special Keller Kids set
DESCRIPTION:Definition: Loose interpretations of Grateful Dead songs done in a bluegrass style. Take my fascination with Grateful Dead songs and mix it together with my love of psychedelic improvisational bluegrass music and out burps this project. \nWARNING FROM KELLER: “If you like your Grateful Dead songs performed in their original way\, or if you prefer traditional bluegrass\, this is not the project for you.  If you like singing along to Dead songs in that song’s normal tempo but dancing double time to the music\, this is definitely your jam. A lot of people seem to dig it and I dig them for that.” ~KW \nKeller’s Grateful Grass delivers anything-but-traditional bluegrass versions of Grateful Dead favorites. Grateful Grass often times has a rotating lineup and so far\, has included collaborations with The Keels\, Keith Moseley (SCI)\, Jeff Austin (Yonder Mountain String Band)\, Michael Kang (SCI)\, Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green\, Mark Benevento Trio) Bill Nershi (SCI)\, Allie Kral\, Vince Herman (Leftover Salmon)\, Sam Grisman\, Love Canon\, The Infamous Stringdusters and the Hillbenders. \nCome for the music\, Stay for the Community! \n“Where Wild Meets Wonderful” \n  \nEVENT DETAILS:\nWHO: Keller Williams’ Grateful Grass with special Keller Kids set \nWHERE: The Outpost at the New River Gorge: 843 Fayette Station Rd Fayetteville\, WV \nWHAT: A psychedelic bluegrass twist on classic dead tunes and other great jams! \n*Kids Show Notes: Free kids show attendees must use shuttle to come to the show. Day parking passes are reserved for PAID event attendees. (Tickets are not needed for kids show only!) \nWHEN: September 26th\, 2026 – Bar 5:30pm / Doors 6:00pm / FREE Keller Williams Kids Show 6:30-7:15pm / Main Show 7:30pm – 11:00pm \nHOW MUCH: $30 ADV / $35 DOS (CAMPING WILL INCLUDE TICKETS) ** Plus Taxes and Fees** \nQUIET HOURS EVENT NIGHT: EXTENDED TO 1:00AM \nWHY: To share the love of music and community on a beautiful summer evening! \n\nPARKING: \nMain Parking (Free): Parking will be at Adventures on the Gorge (AOTG) and Downtown Fayetteville with a FREE and CONTINUOUS shuttle running to The Outpost (less than 10 min ride). Shuttles to The Outpost start at 5:30pm and end at 12:00pm. \nAOTG and downtown Fayetteville have great shops\, restaurants and bars to enjoy prior to shows and The Outpost bar will open at 5:30pm with food trucks\, local brews / seltzers / wine / cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks in a beautiful setting with a communal vibe. \nOnsite Parking (Paid or with Reservations): UNLESS you buy a limited “Onsite Parking Pass” or have a reservation to stay at The Outpost\, parking must be at one of the above shuttle locations.
