DESCRIPTION:A Celebration of Our Appalachian Queen\, Dolly Parton\nSeptember 25 | Fayetteville\, WV\nCommunity festivities throughout the evening\nOn 9/25\, we’re giving a little nod to “9 to 5” and coming together to celebrate an Appalachian icon who showed the world how much good can come from a big heart\, a little kindness and a whole lot of sparkle.\n\nJoin us as Fayetteville celebrates Dolly through books\, kindness\, music\, creativity and making the world a little brighter.\n6 PM | Coat of Many Colors Community ReadingBring your favorite quilt or blanket and join us on the lawn at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building for a community reading of Dolly’s beloved Coat of Many Colors.\n7 PM | Dolly TributeAfter story time\, it’s time to put on your best Dolly or cowboy! All ages are invited to channel our favorite fashion icon. Big hair\, rhinestones\, fringe\, butterflies\, a coat of many colors\, cowboys however Dolly inspires you! Remember kindness counts.\nCommunity QuiltHelp us create a Fayetteville community quilt inspired by Dolly’s legacy of kindness. Decorate a fabric quilt square with a positive message\, words of encouragement or something Dolly inspired. We’ll bring the squares together to create one colorful community piece. We’ll have all the supplies you need!\nMake a ButterflyStop by and create a colorful butterfly inspired by one of Dolly’s favorite symbols. Make one to take home as a little reminder to spread some joy and make the world a little brighter.\nBring a Book for DollyIn honor of Dolly’s lifelong commitment to children’s literacy\, we’ll be collecting new children’s books to donate to the Fayetteville Public Library and school. We’ll also have information available for anyone interested in supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.\nDilly Dolly Around TownTake a little Dolly stroll through Fayetteville! Visit our participating businesses and Dolly stops throughout the day for photo ops\, activities\, shopping and plenty of sparkle.\nSecret Sandwich SocietyStrike a pose with Dolly at a special Dolly photo-op!\nMayariStop by Mayari’s Dolly-themed window for another fun photo opportunity and check out their special Dolly prayer candles. $5 from every Dolly candle sold during September and October will be donated to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.\nVery Rare VintageVery Rare is going all out for Dolly! Browse a special vintage Western and Dolly-inspired vintage clothing rack\, enjoy Dolly music and movies in the shop throughout the day\, and shop a guest vintage clothing vendor popping up with a couple racks of finds.\nKids can pick out a FREE BOOK in honor of Dolly while supplies last\, and Mattie will be offering henna tattoos.
