Nestled in the picturesque mountains of West Virginia you can step back in time and enjoy Fayetteville’sGingerbread Festival! Fayetteville gets all dolled up for the holidays celebrating with true small-town flair. Escape the hustle and bustle of the holidays and enjoy a getaway with your family. You can shop small and enjoy strolling around historic downtown as the town is transformed into a candy land with gingerbread decor throughout town. Enjoy the Hansel & Gretel Trail with gingerbread-themed stops through town. The Festivities kick off on December 3rd with fun lined up through Saturday. Have breakfast with Santa at Cathedral Café. Enjoy more holiday shopping with the Fayetteville Women’s Club’s Christmas Craft show with over 50 craft vendors. The Fayetteville Arts Coalition will be hosting a Holiday Sampler showcasing the many talented artists that call Fayetteville home. Watch Christmas characters come to life Saturday with Fayetteville’s Christmas Parade. Santa will be riding into town in style with the parade. Visit with Santa and his elves on Saturday and enjoy cookie decorating, a craft, storytime, hot cocoa, write letters to Santa and much more! We will be hosting our 3rd Annual Gingerbread Decorating Contest. Gingerbread entries will be on display for voting during the festival. The Gingerbread contest is open to all ages and all skill levels. The Lincoln County Cloggers will be joining us this year to perform at the festival. We will have food trucks set up downtown and firepits for smores.

Gingerbread Competition

Get into the holiday spirit by participating in a sugar-filled baking competition. Fayetteville is hosting a Gingerbread Festival on December 3rd-4th. Bakers are invited to get creative and bring their gingerbread masterpieces to the Fayetteville Town Hall to go on display for the contest. You can use any sweet ingredients to help you create your pieces. This contest is open to all ages from beginners to experts. Cash Prizes will be awarded to the winner by age categories. Visitors can vote on the displays during the festival. To sign up for the festival email:

Join us at the Love Hope Center of the Arts annual Holiday Arts Sampler. Shop for handcrafted items from our talented local artists.

Winter Wonderland Fun Run/ Walk
Sunday 4:45pm Fayette County Park
– arrive at the park gate by 4:45pm and wait in your cars to enter the park. The park attendant will collect the $10 per person as you pass by the gate and pass out gift packages. The gate will be closed from 5pm-6pm.
– fill the parking by the pool area first. This is located past the first left turn, the Canteen log building, and to the left of the large swimming pool.
– Check in at the Active SWV tent and be sure to let us know if you are participating in the Ugly Sweater contest (or if you’re regular attire could be confused as an ugly sweater). Watch for cars still coming in to the park.
– The Fun Run/Walk is set to start at 5:00pm. The gate will be closed from 5pm-6pm for the safety of the runners and walkers.
– Have fun! Enjoy the lights and costumes. Please maintain distance from those outside of your household.
– Do not move your cars until 6pm. If you finish early, please wait until 6pm to move your car.
– When the gate opens at 6pm, the vehicles waiting to enter the light show will be let in first so there is room on the one lane road for cars to exit.
