Nestled in the picturesque mountains of West Virginia you can step back in time and enjoy Fayetteville’s Gingerbread Festival! Fayetteville gets all dolled up for the holidays celebrating with true small-town flair. Escape the hustle and bustle of the holidays and enjoy a getaway with your family. You can shop small and enjoy strolling around historic downtown as the town is transformed into a candy land with gingerbread decor throughout town. Enjoy the Hansel & Gretel Trail with gingerbread-themed stops through town. The Festivities kick off on December 1stwith fun lined up through Saturday. Have breakfast with Santa at Cathedral Café. Enjoy more holiday shopping with the Fayetteville Women’s Club’s Christmas Craft show with over 50 craft vendors. The Fayetteville Arts Coalition will be hosting a Holiday Sampler showcasing the many talented artists that call Fayetteville home. Watch Christmas characters come to life Saturday with Fayetteville’s Christmas Parade. Santa will be riding into town in style with the parade. Visit with Santa and his elves on Saturday and enjoy cookie decorating, a craft, story time, hot cocoa, write letters to Santa and much more! We will be hosting our 3rd Annual Gingerbread Decorating Contest. Gingerbread entries will be on display for voting during the festival. The Gingerbread contest is open to all ages and all skill levels. We will have food trucks set up downtown and firepits for smores.

Get into the holiday spirit by participating in a sugar-filled baking competition. Fayetteville is hosting a Gingerbread Festival on December 1st-3rd. Bakers are invited to get creative and bring their gingerbread masterpieces to the Fayetteville Town Hall to go on display for the contest. You can use any sweet ingredients to help you create your pieces. This contest is open to all ages from beginners to experts. Cash Prizes will be awarded to the winner by age categories. Join us for Fayetteville’s Christmas parade on Saturday, December 2, at 5pm as part of Fayetteville’s Gingerbread Festival.
Parade lineup is at 4pm at Fayetteville PK-8. Parade will travel down Maple Ave toward the courthouse. This evening parade will twinkle with lights. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place floats!
Fayetteville Womens Club Christmas Craft Show
Stop by the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building for the Fayetteville Womens Club annual Christmas Craft Show during the Gingerbread Festival. Enjoy door prizes and shopping with over 50 vendors!
Stop by the Fayetteville Visitor Center to grab a Holiday Bingo Card. Make a purchase at businesses in town to get a space marked off. 5 squares in a row gets you Bingo! Turn in cards with your name and phone number at the Fayetteville Visitor Center to claim a small prize and be entered in a contest for prize drawings!

Ugly Sweater Run/ Walk Active Southern WV
Fayette County Park
– Arrive at the park gate between 4:30pm-4:50pm and wait in your cars to enter the park. The park attendant will collect the $10 per person as you pass by the gate and pass out gift packages. Ages 10 and Under are free. The gate will be closed from 5pm-6pm.
– Parking is available by the canteen and the pool area.
– Check in at the Dining Hall and be sure to let us know if you are participating in the Ugly Sweater contest (or if you’re regular attire could be confused as an ugly sweater). Watch for cars still coming into the park.
– The Fun Run/Walk is set to start at 5:00pm. The gate will be closed from 5pm-6pm for the safety of the runners and walkers.
– Have fun! Enjoy the lights and costumes. Flashlights and headlamps are encouraged. This is a great event for strollers!
– Return to the dining hall at 5:50 for the Ugly Sweater runway contest.
– Do not move your cars until close to 6pm. If you finish early, please wait until 6pm to move your car.
– When the gate opens at 6pm, the vehicles waiting to enter the light show will be let in first so there is room on the one lane road for cars to exit.
