Fayetteville gets all dolled up for the holidays celebrating with true small-town flair. Escape the hustle and bustle of the holidays and enjoy a getaway with your family. You can shop small and enjoy strolling around historic downtown as the town is transformed into a candy land with gingerbread decor throughout the town. Enjoy the Hansel & Gretel Trail with gingerbread-themed stops through town. The Festivities kick off December 5th with fun lined up throughout the whole weekend. This year’s festival will look a little bit different from the past. We will not be hosting some aspects of the festival including the children’s activities downtown to avoid crowds. We will be following social distancing guidelines and following the mask mandate.

Make sure you stop by town hall to drop off letters to Santa. There will be a mailbox set up right inside of the town hall. Get your letters in early to hear back from Santa.
We will be hosting our 3rd Annual Gingerbread Decorating Contest. Gingerbread entries will be on display for voting during the festival. The Gingerbread contest is open to all ages and all skill levels. To participate in the contest you must drop off your gingerbread creations at the Fayetteville visitor center by Saturday, December 5th at 9am.

The Freefolk Brewery is hosting the Cheers! Winter Makers Market on Saturday, December 5, from 12 pm to 8 pm. Shop items are grown and made by local artisans while strolling through Freefolk’s outdoor beer garden. All booth proceeds go to Fayette Forward and creating a community space in the Oak Hill Bellann Building. The outdoor market is covered and will be monitored to only allow half capacity.
