Sure you can celebrate the Fourth of July in a big city where the firework displays may be a little splashier, but nothing compares to a small town Independence Day Celebration. Fayetteville takes great pride in celebrating our Independence Day. Flags will line the streets and the beautiful historic houses will have patriotic bunting draping over their porches. Experiencing Independence day the small town way and feeling the sense of community and small town charm is just magical. The Fayetteville Lion’s Club goes all out to plan a two day Fourth of July Festival in downtown Fayetteville. The main street through town will be blocked off and vendors will line the streets. There will be lots of activities for kids including inflatables. Nothing says summer like a watermelon spitting contest, we have that too, enjoy sack races, and even a frog jumping contest. Stop by the Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureaus booth for all things Fayetteville and information. We would love for you to participate in our town craft project to honor our veterans at our booth. Bring a blanket and stay all evening, relax on the courthouse lawn and enjoy some live music. One of the best parts of the celebration is the Independence Day Parade with decked out floats and firetrucks. We go out with a bang ending the celebration with an awesome firework show at dusk on the fourth at the Fayetteville Town Park.
