Kind Words From Water Stone Outdoors
“Okay. Longish post alert. And emotional. This is Curtis Paul. We hired him three years ago when he was 16, a quiet, skinny skater kid. We are kind of lame at training our staff and we didn’t do so well with Curtis. We discovered that he was hiding out in the boot room sometimes because he was uncertain about things. Matt Threllfall volunteered to step in and get him up to speed which happened over that winter. Fast forward: Curtis became indispensable around here. Endlessly motivated. Willing to dive into projects no one wanted to touch. He became our go to guy when ordering apparel because everything he said would sell, sold. We started relying on him for just about everything. And leaning on his steady psyche. And laughing because he is really funny. And admiring him because he always does him. And just plain being proud of this kid that so many of us have watched grow up and turn into a top shelf human. And now we are losing him because he has started his own business. We have no doubt he will succeed. We have no doubt he will inspire other kids who see how he has quietly forged ahead and created the reality he wanted. We could not be more proud of this human being. And we know we speak for this entire community! Please check out his new shop as soon as it opens. Good luck Curtis! We love you and we thank you for everything you have done to make our business better. Keep charging!” Water Stone Outdoors
