The small town appeal shines throughout Fayetteville in many a manner, but it will become even more evident when Market Days begin. On the first Saturday of the month, June through October, folks will be able to enjoy not only the Farmers Market (which is in town every Saturday morning 7:30-11:30), but they can also mosey through an artisans market, check out the bargains at the flea market, and look for unique treasures at yard sales all over the town.
The artisans market will be located in Janutolo Park just behind the Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureau (FCVB) on Court Street. The flea market will be in the parking lot of the Fayette County Courthouse, and the yard sales will be all through Town. There is no fee for any vendors and the Town has waived yard sale fees on Market Days.
You will want to be sure to begin your Market Day at the Fayette County Farmers Market in the parking lot between Diogi’s Restaurant and the Fayetteville CVB where you can pick up a guide and map to all the yard sales and specials in Town that day. Next, you might want to check out the art scene in the artisans market, and then look for the fleas up the hill at the Courthouse. Finally, follow the map around town to see what everyone has for sale from where they emptied their closets during spring cleaning. Of course, you can do Market Day in any order you decide, just don’t skip the Farmers Market start.
Oh, and be sure to take some time to relax with some live music and a hot cup of coffee on the porch of the Fayetteville CVB.
Nothing too exciting; it’s just plain fun and enjoyment. Mark your calendar now to come to Fayettevilleat 8:00 a.m.on June 2nd for the first Market Day. You will want to come back, time after time.
