Fayetteville Bike Month Challenge

May is National Bike Month and the Town of Fayetteville invites you to celebrate! When you ride your bike this month, you have a chance to win prizes. Here’s how to participate:1. Ride on any of the local trails below.
2. Post a picture of you from your ride to social media.

Fayette Station Road Closure
PARK ALERT: Fayette Station Road will be closed to vehicle traffic from 6:00 am – 10:00 am on Saturday, May 15th. The closure will be from the Lansing Loop and Fayette Station Road intersection to the intersection of Fayette Station Road and Route 19- the course of a Rim to Rim 10K race. Anyone wanting to set a river shuttle at Fayette Station or Teays will need to do so by 6:00 am or after 10:00 am. Climbers can access Bridge Buttress by parking and walking down from Burnwood Day Use Area.
Rim to River Race
7am-12pm
The 2021 New River Gorge Rim to Rim 10K will be a running road race from one side of the New River Gorge to the other. This bucket list event will provide runners with breathtaking views throughout the course in the adventure sports capital of West Virginia, Fayetteville. Hosted by Adventures on the Gorge, racers will have access to resort amenities and finish at the rim side pool with a catered brunch.
The course will begin on the south side of Fayette Station Road and finish at Adventures on the Gorge. Racers should prepare for a decent of 1300 ft and a climb of 1300 ft with the steepest point being a 20% incline. The finish line will bring racers to the rim of the gorge with an overlook photo opportunity. Racers are welcome to walk the course but must maintain a 20 minute mile pace to complete the event during the allotted closed road timeframe.

It’s time for Kerren Halls annual Make Is Shine Kanawha Falls trash clean! This trash pick up is off the road so it’s a great spot to bring the kids and teach them to give back to the Earth. It’s also a great place to put in your SUP board and paddle around or bring your kayak and huck the falls after the clean up. Bags, gloves, and refreshments will be provided! Please share and invite friends!
