Full Moon Yoga Nidrā Meditation & Sound Immersion
Full Moon Yoga Nidrā Meditation & Sound Immersion $20
July 23 7-9pm
Farm called CROW
4340 Gatewood Rd
Fayetteville, West Virginia Full Moon illuminates our opportunity to repose, reflect & release that which is not serving us. This is a powerful time to create positive change in our lives. Cosmic Water Yoga & Sounds and Farm called CROW invites you to open every cell in your body to the transformational vibrations of a Cosmic Water Yoga Sound Immersion & Yoga NIdrā on July 23, 2021 at 7:00pm and leave Farm called CROW feeling radiant and effervescent. Rhythmic or oscillating processes provide the foundation for all creation. Much of life is directed by the interwoven rhythms of nature. The Earth rotates on its axis as we revolve around our star, as the Moon orbits our home planet. We naturally attune ourselves to the cycles of the sun and the moon, synchronizing with the rhythms they create.Sound healing practices like Cosmic Water Yoga’s New Moon Yoga Nidrā Meditation & Sound Immersion, utilize sound (or pressure) waves to help us reduce stress, create a stable mediative state, and create a deep sense of peace and well-being for better health.*The 2-hour Somatic Sound Sojourn begins with the recitation of ancient mantra to prepare our mind-state. Using contemplative visualizations, imagery, breath(pranayama) and somatic yoga movements: space and stillness are created for the deeper experience. We will then create a comfortable reclined or seated position to maintain through the rest of the practice. Then simply repose in restorative resonance to the mesmerizing, kaleidoscopic sound imagery of gongs, brass Tibetan & crystal singing bowls, tanpura, harmonium, flutes, voice, strings, bells and sundry shamanic sounds for an even deeper meditative state. The healing properties of sound are well documented in many ancient cultures. There’s something very powerful about fixing your attention on the sound that immediately helps you sink into deeper and deeper states of consciousness – with the goal of yogic sleep (yoga nidrā). Finally coming to a close with the journey back to the physical body. A magical evening of mantra, meditation and sound healing.WHAT TO BRING:
We encourage you to wear loose-fitting clothes for your comfort, but bring along warm comfortable clothing and bring blankets and pillows. You are encouraged to bring your yoga mats, blankets, pillows, and eye pillows. Also, we advised you to bring your own beverage container, favorite beverage and snacks.
Instruments ~ after the practice we may end with some picking!
*In fact, all energy is oscillatory, including light, sound and brain states (emitted alpha, beta, theta, delta and gamma brain waves appear to reflect our changing states of awareness). Entrainment is a technical term used to describe the observed effect when one oscillator begins to couple with another oscillator. Brainwave entrainment occurs when sound or electromagnetic fields encourages the brain to enter a specific state of awareness. The brainwaves align to the frequency of the external oscillating field. Entrainment is found throughout nature: smooth muscles brought close to each other in a petri dish will synchronize their beats, human brainwaves and heartbeat will slow as the rhythm of the breath slows, the brainwaves of people in the deep conversation will begin to lock-in to coherence, …So, please join us for this very special opportunity to heal, release, and relax into your best Self. Lie back and let go as you embark on a sound meditation journey with the cosmic vibrations and shamanic sounds of Cosmic Water: Gongs, bowls, bells, strings, wind & percussion. These meditative and healing sounds work at the cellular level to calm your mind, body, and spirit as you release what no longer serves you, tune into your vibration, and manifest your intentions.

Truck Pull Fundraiser Active Southern WV
The Tractor Bar, Summersville WV
10am-1pm
Active Southern West Virginia (Active SWV) is a non-profit organization working to remove barriers to physical activity in Nicholas, Fayette, Raleigh, and Summers counties by providing free physical activity programs in communities, parks, schools, local governments, and workplaces. This Truck-Pull Series is a way to fundraise to support these free program costs. Additional donations and sponsors are always welcome. What is a Truck-Pull?It’s literally tying a rope to a truck and teams of people work together to move the truck a pre-determined distance in the fastest time. Trust us, there’s more strategy in this than you might think (and we can help with those tips too)!
Teams of 6 people will hold onto a large diameter rope attached to the front of a fire truck. The team will be facing the truck pulling backwards. Think of this as tug-of-war but with a truck as your competition. The truck will be idling out of gear and the brake will be released when the start signal is given.Co-workers, cross-fit members, businesses, friends, families, high school alumni, co-ed teams, worship friends, police departments, EMS teams, Fire department teams — are all welcome to participate.Categories; Men’s, Women’s, Co-ed, Youth (16 and under)Awards; 1st place Men’s team, 1st place women’s team, 1st place Co-Ed team, 1st place Youth team, Best Dressed – break out your St. Patty’s attire (you know, because this was rescheduled from March).

Fayetteville, WVThis Introductory Somatic Sound & Yin Yoga workshop is experiential, playful, powerful and sense-able (enabling a full-senses experience). It is accessible for the novice, the athlete, the flexible, the stiff, all fitness levels, yogis of all body types, shapes, sizes, and those desiring to learn to teach these amazing practices. Bring an open heart-mind, a desire for a full-body smile and any personal pillows, blankets or bolsters that will help create an even more rest-full experience. All creatures (including humans) have the innate capacity to maintain physical/emotional balance by surrendering to relaxation and restoration immediately following any stressful situation. Humans, however, also have the ability to over-ride that innate capacity and dwell on that stress – changing our very biochemistry. Every time we succumb to heightened stimulative stress response, we further the distance to our natural equilibrium and balance.Join Tara & Bill (Cosmic Water Sound & Yoga) on the path to saṃtoṣa or contentment – equanimity in the subtle realm and true ease in the physical realm. We will merge the wisdom of the ancient spiritual traditions of the medieval Kaśmir Valley & sound healing techniques with the modern practices of Somatic & Yin yogas to re-create that natural and calm state of the heart-mind, body and spirit or saṃtoṣa.This workshop considers each participant as a unique individual who is inherently whole and perfect. It is not a practice to achieve some THING, it is an invitation to fully experience your body as manifesting within awareness within each presence moment.Serenity Somatic Sound & Yin Yoga is an exploration of the qualities and the connections within and throughout the body, cultivating a sense of expansive wholeness dancing and flowing softly around your still and centered heart.Somatic Yoga is a letting go of the *Doing* and the *Desiring* and deeply listening, feeling, sensing … the way your body moves most fluidly, effortlessly and naturally – free from the self-imposed constructs of personal and social expectations. When we cultivate surrender of *Doing*, *Desiring*, *Pushing*, *Pulling* – a space emerges where this effortless movement becomes habitual, supporting us in a flow-like state of moving gracefully and with ease.-Play and discover the uniqueness of your body
-Movement perceived from within
-Fluidity and flow directing us from deep inside
-A 3-dimensional dance of wholeness
-A celebration of moving with lightness and stability
-Spaciousness and grounding
-Being in tune with oneself
-Play, breathe, move, smile, sing, hum********* THE WORKSHOP BRIEF OUTLINE********We will begin the Workshop with a recitation of ancient mantra to create a calmer and more aware mind-state, feeling the connections between voice, breath, movement, resonance ….We initiate the focus of our awareness inward by engaging a somatic breathing practice (pranāyama); leading into a brief meditation.Next we will begin a brief discussion to answer any questions and provide an overview and guideposts for the practice. This will lead to a hands-on demonstration of the power of these practices.Afterwards, while Tara fills the room with live music, Bill guides you through a luscious somatic movement & Yin flow intended to nourish your body, breath, heart-mind, spirit & connection with the whole. As we move towards the Bliss of Awareness, you may now be fully supported with props, blankets and eye pillows in a restorative yoga pose. Then, every cell in your body will be awakened to the transformational vibrations of a Cosmic Water Yoga Sound Immersion & Yoga NIdrāWe end with light snacks, recap the practice and answer any questions.Bill has been studying and practicing various flavors of yoga (including somatic with E. Criswell in the mid-90s) for over 50 years, an ERYT500 & a lead YTT trainer, has a PhD in BioMolecular Physics from Berkeley, a professor of Chemistry and a research professor of Physiology at Marshall University & associated Medical School. Bill’s understanding and teaching of yoga’s practices and darśan are informed by modern scientific research and aural-lineage-informed yoga/sanskrit textual scholarship. Bill’s teaching practice includes: several weekly yoga classes (principally Somatic, Yin, Restore, Nāda, free monthly darśan and lead YTT trainer) at Studio 8, Huntington; YACEP workshops; Long-time Faculty advisor – MU Yoga Club.Tara has been practicing yoga for over 20 years, a registered respiratory therapist, a BFA in Voice with Sound Therapy Studies from the Berklee College of Music and has created acclaimed live soundscapes for many and diverse yoga classes and workshops.Together they are …. Cosmic Water Yoga and Sounds (YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2ZZoXtSbT0eZDLrE5TXarg).Our intention is to create a fully-embodied tapestry of direct experience. Blissful, fluid patterns of folding and unfolding, flowing focus – spontaneously spun from the fibers of awareness and woven from the threads of a consistent, coherent blend of yogic practices, technologies & wisdom of the medieval Kashmir Valley with modern somatic movement & sensory science – toward the recognition of a deeper, more expansive mosaic of ‘Self’.Expect a Cosmic Water practice to honor the wisdom and teachings of the ancients by holding the space for the blossoming of surrender, stillness, silence, sound, spaciousness, serenity, spontaneity or sahaja, samādhi (deep meditation), sleep (nidrā)… to re-create a natural and still, silent and spacious state of the body, the heart-mind, and of the spirit. This workshop is required for a Cosmic Water Serenity Somatic Yin Yoga 30 or 50 hr certification.
