Introduction to Tracking for SAR

Instruction of this workshop will consist of a classroom introduction to tracking skills and information. Instruction will illustrate how tracking skills are used during the search for a missing person. Participants will learn and practice basic skills, gain understanding of the sciences involved in tracking skills, and understand the following:

(1) Effect of footfall on ground
(2) Tools used to assist the tracker
(3) Documentation associated with tracking evidence
(4) Discuss misconceptions about visual tracking
(5) Finding tracks and sign on different ground covers
