Climbing Instructor Academy

Teen Camp Graduates and experienced climbers ages 17-19 are encouraged to attend our exclusive Climbing Instructor Academy (CIA). Accepted applicants will attend a 5-day training week which prepares them to be Climbing Instructor Assistants. They will learn the leadership skills required to mentor younger campers who attend our other sessions.

Upon completion of the CIA Training, a select few will be offered the opportunity to join us for the remaining camp sessions free and attend as Climbing Instructor Assistants to our AMGA Staff.

This is an excellent opportunity to spend a few weeks at the New River Gorge and get experience working as a climbing instructor outdoors alongside AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructors. It’s a great resume builder for colleges and builds work history within an outdoor recreation setting.
