Fayetteville celebrates independence day with Fayetteville’s Heritage Festival and the 4th of July Celebration. We have an action-packed weekend full of live music, 4th of July Celebrations, fireworks, the farmers market, big air blob competitions, and more!

Red White & Beautiful Contest

It is known that we go a little extra in celebration of Independence day in Fayetteville and one way we love to celebrate is by getting fully decked out in red, white, and blue attire for the festivities. We would love for you to join in the fun with our Red White & Beautiful Contest. To enter the contest don your stars and stripes, red white, and blue or most patriotic costume, and tag us at @vistfayettevillewv on our Facebook and Instagram as you share your photos. We will be selecting winners for prizes from July 3rd-4th. If your furbabies like to get festive they are encouraged to enter the contest with you.

Fayetteville’s Heritage Festival

Celebrate America’s birthday in America’s coolest small town. We invite you and your family to join our community in celebration. Experience the magic of our small-town Independence Day Celebration with Fayetteville’s Heritage Festival.  This event features fun activities for the whole family with a 4th of July Parade, inflatables and field games, fireworks, and music.  One of the highlights of the celebration is the Best of Small Town 4th of July Parade where you will see an explosion of patriotism with decked-out floats.  The festivities will be capped off by a fireworks extravaganza at the Fayetteville Town Park at dusk on 4th.

Bridge Brew Works 4th of July Celebration

July 4th Celebration at Bridge Brew Works! We have arranged to again this year have a professional fireworks display. The scheduled time is dark around 9-9:30 pm Saturday, July 3. There will be overflow parking at Fayette Veterinary Hospital and at Robbins Company across from the Fayette Co 911 office. We will open at 1 pm Sat July 3rd and will have Mt Momma’s Food Truck. In addition around 4 Cast Iron Smokers will have a pig roasted and ready to serve. And for kids young and old, Cherry on Top Ice Cream food truck will be here. However, you celebrate please do it safely and responsibly.

Navigating Around Town

Court Street will be blocked off between Wiseman and Maple Avenue, East Maple Ave will also be blocked off from Court St to Church St on Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 8am to 11pm for downtown festivities for the 4th of July Heritage Festival. Alternate routes will be available during this time but please approach this area with caution.

Where to Park

Need a parking space? There are plenty of spots at the old grade school playground entrance off High Street.

( Take a right off of Court St. Before the road closure on Wiseman Ave. Take a right on to High Street. Look for the parking sign) The Board of Education parking lot off Fayette Ave. can be utilized outside of business hours along with the Fayetteville Baptist Church lot and Church of God lot off Harvey Street.

Community Church Service Parking

The Service will be held on the middle field at the Fayetteville Town Park. Parking for the Service will be made available at Huse Memorial Cemetery and National Park Trailhead. There will be two designated Handicap lots. One will be located directly behind the middle field, accessed through the Cemetery and the other will be behind the basketball courts/ amphitheater, accessed through the second entrance to the park. You will not be able to access the park through the main entrance. Police officers will be on-site to provide assistance. All vehicles parked in these locations will be required to move no later than 2 pm.

Fayetteville 5k Fun Run/Walk

Registration 7:30am-8:15am Race at 8:30am

Join us on Independence Day weekend for this fun run/walk hosted by the Fayetteville Bicycle Pedestrian Action Committee, supported by the Town of Fayetteville, Active SWV, and Arrowhead Bike Farm. We will meet at the Fayetteville Town Park, Shelter 3 near the dog park, and follow the beginner-friendly trails behind the park, and the fitness loop. The course will be a mix of paved and dirt path. Pre-register online, and receive a t-shirt on race day. Day-of registration will be available between 7:30 am – 8:15 am prior to the race start. T-shirts are not guaranteed for day-of registrants. The run/walk will begin at 8:30 am.

Fayette County Farmers Market

Join us for a special extended farmers market from 8am-5pm on Saturday, July 3rd. in addition to lots of farm-fresh veggies, fresh meats, baked goods, eggs, and artisan items there will be live music, face painting, kids crafts, cornhole game, and 4th of July prizes for kids.

Gather at Wonderland Water Park at Ace Adventure Resort for the 11th Annual Big Air Blob Competition. Fireworks won’t be the only thing rocketing skyward on Independence Day. Teams of two will compete for the most outrageous blob of the day. Judges will score up to 10 points per blob based on form, height or just sheer craziness. Cash Prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners!

Fourth of July Fireworks at Dusk at the Charlie McCoy Park

There is something special about gathering with your community and watching fireworks together that brings families coming back year after year. The Town of Fayetteville Fire Department puts on an awesome show! The Duffy Boyd Blue Grass band will kick things off at the park with live music from 3 pm to 5 pm followed by the Two Broke Band from 6 pm to 9 pm. There will be lots of fun for the kids with inflatables by Party Palooza. Fireworks will be at dusk visible from the town park.

Where to Park and Traffic Flow For Those Attending Fireworks

Beginning around 4:00 pm on July 4th, 2021, traffic flow on Park Dr. will be regulated to one way, going from the intersection with Fayette Ave towards Hresan Blvd. Traffic on Hresan Blvd will also be restricted to one way, flowing from the intersection with Park Dr. towards Keller Ave.All traffic planning to attend the fireworks display will be required to enter the area on Park Dr. at Fayette Ave. A limited amount of handicap parking will be available on Park Dr. and at the paved portion of the Little League Field parking lot. Additional parking will be available at Grace Baptist Church on Hresan Blvd. and the Board of Education Central Office on Fayette Ave. People wishing to attend and park in one of these locations, or while visiting a resident in the area, should plan on arriving no later than 8:00 pm to allow themselves time to locate a parking place and arrive at a viewing area before the show begins at dusk. At the conclusion of the fireworks display all traffic leaving from Grace Baptist Church will be required to exit and travel down Hresan Blvd to Keller Ave. Anyone needing to pick up someone from the Town Park area will need to access Park Dr. from Fayette Ave.

The Monday Market at The Gaines Estate

Conveniently open to the public on the first Monday evening of the month, The Market will feature Fayetteville’s finest food trucks, produce vendors, artisans and vendors of all kinds.
