Looking for ideas of things to do during the holiday season? We have plenty of socially distanced holiday fun lined up. Let the holiday festivities begin by experiencing a winter getaway in the mountains. Downtown Fayetteville is glowing this holiday season. Our local shops are packed with special one of a kind locally made gifts and unique finds for all tastes. The holidays in Fayetteville will be a little different this year. 1. Lights

The Fayetteville County Park’s Winter Wonderland of Lights is one of the area’s longest-running holiday celebrations with thousands of lights on display throughout the park. It is a magical experience for little ones and the whole family.

If you are looking to check out more light displays you can take a short drive from Fayetteville to Hawks Nest State Park where they go all out for the holidays. Continue heading north on route 19 to check out the displays at the Nicholas Veterans Memorial ParkSummersville. You can venture south and see Thurmond like you have never seen it before, all lit up for the holidays. Bundle up and take an evening stroll around this old coal town.

Fayetteville has transformed into a winter wonderland and the town is decked out for the holidays. Downtown sparkles with Christmas lights strung. 4. Take a Hike

This is the perfect time of year to beat the crowds and enjoy spectacular views in the gorge. Stop by the visitor center and we will get you stared on a hiking adventure and supply the maps. Two of our favorite winter hikes are the Endless Wall Trail and Long Point Trail.

6. The Stache

Don’t let the cold keep you from enjoying ice cream from this unique ice cream shop that is open year-round. Feel like a kid in a candy shop and pick out last-minute stocking stuffers and toys. Unicorns! Flamingos! Hot Chocolate and more!

9.Enjoy a Brew by The Fire

The Freefolk Brewery has converted a large outdoor tent to allow for lots of spacious seating options. Stay toasty with heaters and warm up by one of their outdoor fire pits while enjoying your favorite brew.
