5/1 Freefolk Fire Festival


First Annual Freefolk Fire Festival! We’ll have our courtyard decked out in flowers, and we will be celebrating spring! Great beer! Live music! Dancing! Good food! Then, the Green Man and the Goddess of Spring will end the night by burning an effigy of old man winter.

The Second Annual Ramp It Up! Ramp Celebration in the Lost Paddle at ACE Adventure Resort celebrates a regional culinary delicacy and the coming of Spring in the West Virginia Mountains. Join us for a ramp focused dining experience including traditional ramp dishes and contemporary ramp explorations.

Who do you have as your favorite horse to win it all? Join us at Maggie’s, dress to the 9’s, wear your biggest Derby hat and enjoy some awesome free Hor d’oeuvres as we watch the greatest 2 minutes in sports history! Then stay after that for the DJ and dance party.

May is National Bike Month and the Town of Fayetteville invites you to celebrate! Join Mayor Cruikshank and members of Fayetteville Town Council at the Fayetteville Town Park on May 5th at 5pm. Bring your bike or come out for a walk. You’ll have options to bike or walk the Fayetteville Fitness Trail (a paved 1-mile loop) or the Fayetteville Park Trail (approximately 1-mile wooded trail).

5/8 Busk Fest at Arrowhead Bike Farm

Join us at the Arrowhead Bike Farm for Busk Fest 2021! Busking is a time-honored tradition of performing music in the street for tips. This event is focused on highlighting those musicians who haven’t been able to perform in such a long time. In the spirit of busking, we will have West Virginian artists performing for tips throughout the Biergarten all day and into the night! Bring some cash to show these talented folks how much we appreciate them. May 8th 11 AM-9 PM!

5/9 Mother’s Day Brunch at the Gaines Estate

There is no better person to celebrate other than mom! Join us at The Gaines Estate with your family to honor Mother’s Day with a scrumptious brunch. All of your brunch favorites will be featured including a breakfast charcuterie board and of course mimosas! Treat mom on this special day with a lovely afternoon at the stunning estate.

5/9 Free Mothers Day Yoga Meditation at New River Yoga

Free Mother Day Yoga class provided by New River Yoga, with Candace Evans. Special Guest Keith Molyneaux. Keith will play a selection of instruments to wisk you away for a sound bath relaxation session. It will be a meditative experience where those in attendance are “bathed” in sound waves. 

5/9 Mother’s day Paint & Sip at the Southside Junction Taphouse

Come out to The Southside Junction Tap House for a Mother’s Day paint and sip. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing- groups that come together will be seated together. Class is limited. We will be painting Peaceful Garden- all materials and step-by-step instruction provided, including a 16×20 inch canvas. $4 mimosas, craft beer and appetizers will be available for purchase.

5/14-16 New River Gorge Festival

The inaugural New River Gorge Festival is happening May 14th- 16th at ACE Adventure Resort in West Virginia. Let’s celebrate America’s newest National Park where we all love to paddle, hike, bike, and explore. This weekend is jam-packed with fun things to do including catching an outdoor film festival, shopping the vendor midway, dancing to your favorite music, and oh year, going on river trips!

5/ 15 New River Gorge Rim to Rim 5k Race

The Rim to Rim Race is a running road race from one side of the New River Gorge to the other. This bucket list event will provide runners with breathtaking views throughout the course in Fayetteville, the adventure sports capital of West Virginia. Hosted by Adventures on the Gorge, racers will have access to resort amenities and finish at the rim-side pool with a catered brunch.

5/29 Wonderland Mountain Challenge at Ace Adventure Resort

Join ACE Adventure Resort for the Wonderland Mountain Challenge, a demanding trail run through the beautiful mountains in West Virginia on Memorial Day weekend. Choose between a half-marathon, 10K run, or a 5-mile walk. These distinctive race routes will take racers through the New River Gorge past scenic rock outcrops, cascading streams and abandoned coal mines. After grabbing your medal at the finish line a burrito buffet awaits to tame the appetite you have developed. Cash prizes will be awarded to top finishers, plus you get bragging rights for tackling this amazing race on May 29th, 2021.
