September brings a taste of fall and the start to Gauley Season. Gauley season is officially West Virginias 5th season attracting whitewater enthusiasts from all over the world. The season kicks off on the second weekend of September running for 6 weeks with guaranteed water releases from Summersville lake to ensure whitewater rafting opportunities on the Gauley River. In additon to Gauley season fun we have lots of festivals like the Oak Leaf Festival, WV Craft Brew Showcase, Folktoberfest and Burning Bike Music and Mountain Biking Festival.

Oak Leaf Festival in Oak Hill

September 2-5

Check out the Oak Leaf Festival in our neighboring town of Oak Hill. This is the 22nd annual Oak Leaf Festival. The festival starts on Thursday, September 2 – 5, 2021 with a Meet and Greet with Oak Hill Middle School and continue throughout the weekend with Jeep Show, bands, games, vendors, car show, chili cook-off and fireworks, video game tournament, Sweet Taste of Oak Hill, among many other activities. We will also be featuring our grand parade on Saturday, September 4th. It will be a fun filled weekend for all ages.

The WV Craft Brew Showcase at Ace Adventure Resort

Craft beer and live music, YES PLEASE!! Spend your Saturday afternoon tasting some of the finest beers from West Virginia’s craft brewers and dancing on the deck with some fantastic musicians. Live at The Lost Paddle will be The Settlement, Abby Bryant & The Echoes, Archibald Johnson & Shawn Benfield. Your West Virginia Brewery Tour Pass includes (10) 5oz tastings and a commemorative glass. This is your chance to check out Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company, Bridge Brew Works, Weathered Ground Brewing, Freefolk Brewery, Big Timber Brewing, Sophisticated Hound, Parkersburg Brewing Co. and more!

The Monday Market at The Gaines Estate

Conveniently open to the public on the first Monday evening of the month, The Market will feature Fayetteville’s finest food trucks, produce vendors, artisans and vendors of all kinds. Folktoberfest at The Freefolk Brewery

Celebrate the season with Freefolk’s version of the German classic, the Marzen at our Folktoberfest! Lady D and Mission provide entertainment on Friday, with Jensen Buck on Saturday. Polecat pop up kitchen is doing a specialty Wood-Fired BBQ theme this weekend as well! You don’t want to miss out!! Cheers!

NRG Craggin Classic American Alpine Club

September 24th-26th

Join the American Alpine Club and CAMP Technical Adventure Equipment in Fayetteville, West Virginia September 24th- 26th for the 10th annual Craggin’ Classic in the New River Gorge, our newest National Park!

This 3-day grassroots climbing festival celebrates the climbers and climbing of the Southeast. The weekend features climbing clinics taught by professional athletes and local guides, stewardship and conservation efforts, an epic glow-stick dance party, a dyno comp, a pig roast, gear demos, food trucks, speakers, live music, locally brewed beers and spirits (21+), games, free swag, bonfires, raffles, silent auctions and good vibes with great people!

The festivities will take place at the AAC’s campground with clinics taking place at local climbing destinations throughout the Gorge. Spots are limited, and this Craggin’ Classic will sell out!

Burning Bike Music & Bike Festival at Arrowhead Bike Farm

Join us for Burning Bike 2021! We are going to have a day of FREE skills clinics followed by live music and a giant bonfire. Check out the schedule down below for more details about the skills being taught and the great performers we have coming in. There is no registration for this event so just show up with your bike and let’s have a good time!

Lords of Lester Live Music at the Freefolk Brewery
