From puppy love to pop divas, tasting menus to cozy brunch dates—Fayetteville is the place to be this Valentine’s season.
This year, our small town is full of creative, heart-warming, and downright fun ways to celebrate love in all its forms-romantic love, friendship, self-love, and even puppy love. Whether you’re planning a date night, a Galentine’s brunch, or a unique experience you won’t find anywhere else, here’s what’s happening around town.
Blind Date With a Dog (and Puppy Love Photo Ops!)
Hosted by the Fayette County Animal Shelter
One of our absolute favorite Valentine’s happenings this year is all about unconditional love and wagging tails.
This Valentine’s Day, ditch the swiping and let us handle the matchmaking with Blind Date With a Dog. Participants will be matched with a shelter dog without seeing a bio or photo first. Your mystery pup will be waiting at the shelter, ready to steal your heart.
You’ll then take your canine date out on the town for a real doggy date, with ideas like:
- A pup cup stop
- A fun outing to PetSmart, Lowe’s, or Tractor Supply
- A stroll or playtime at the Fayetteville dog park
- Or a relaxed walk and cuddle session
- Stop by the Fayetteville Visitor Center for a Valentine’s Day photo backdrop for dog photos, plus treats for both pups and people.
- Bridge Brew Works and the Freefolk Brewery are also pup friendly
After your date, you’ll get to learn more about your pup’s personality and story and if you’ve fallen head over paws, you can take the next steps toward adoption.
Every date gives a shelter dog valuable enrichment, socialization, and a day filled with love. This event is perfect for singles, couples, families, and dog lovers of all kinds.
Warning: Side effects may include happiness, wagging tails, and potential adoption.
To reserve a dog, message the shelter directly through their Facebook page.
Valentine’s Day for the Dogs Photo op at the Fayetteville Visitor Center

Stop by the shelter and be matched with a dog that deserves some much-needed time away and treat them to a special Valentine’s Day to remember.
