Chakra Girls Sacred Circle

6pm-8pm

You will not want to miss this multi-sensory exploration of the chakra system!
You are invited to join Brenda Jean Helms, E-RYT , YACEP, on an insightful
journey of the seven chakras with music, candlelight, aromatherapy, crystals, and a guided meditation through the rainbow of colors!
This experiential workshop will end with a special tea service and a chakra girls sacred circle.

Each participant will receive a take-home chakra kit with lots of goodies!!

Mama Said String Band at The Rendevous River Lodge

Louisville, KY’s Mama Said String Band make their Rendezvous River Lodge debut on Friday, August 6th for two sets! Music starts at 8 pm, FREE show!–A four-piece collection of songwriters, David O’Neal, Taylor Shuck, Katie “Didit” Caudill, and Kaitlen Farmer, is Mama Said String Band. Based out of Louisville, KY and established in 2016, Mama Said String Band brings a refreshing reinvention to sounds once forgotten. Individually, each member’s background spans multiple cultures, genres, and styles. Together, they draw influences from Bluegrass, Folk and Americana while focusing on vocal harmonies and contemporary instrumentation to build an eclectic, eurythmic melody and tactfully delivered message.https://mamasaidstringband.com/

Catptain Thurmond Fun Run 5k

Captain Thurmond’s Challenge

Captain Thurmond’s Challenge is held in the center of beautiful downtown Fayetteville, WV & is an extreme triathlon consisting of 28.5 miles of the most extreme Mountain Biking, White Water and Running in the state and some would say the East Coast. Participants can register to compete as part of Raft Team, a Relay Team, or in the Solo Division.If you’re looking for teammates or are concerned about the White Water leg of this race, we encourage you to contact us and we will be happy to help you assemble a team.This race is part of the New River Gorge Challenge Weekend so pack up the friends and family and head on out for a weekend of racing for every level! In addition to the Captain Thurmond’s Challenge on Saturday, August 7th, 2021, a 5K will also be held in town that morning with proceeds supporting the New River Gorge Learning Co-Op. There is also an awesome FAMILY-FRIENDLY triathlon held Sunday, August 6th in the town of Thurmond, WV, a short drive from Fayetteville.

Thurmond Triatholon


The Town of Thurmond is making plans to hold the Thurmond Triathlon, a beginner triathlon, on Sunday, August 8, 2021. The beginner triathlon will take place in Thurmond and is open to anyone 7 years of age and older. Individuals, duos or families will bike from the Historic Thurmond Depot 2 miles to Stone Cliff where they will then paddle 1.5 miles to the Dun Glen Day Use area. From there contestants will run a two mile loop around the Historic Town of Thurmond.

Mark Your Calendars for Fayetteville’s Wild Weekend Nature Festival

We want to invite you to come on an adventure with us and discover all of the nature that Fayetteville has to offer. We are celebrating what makes Fayetteville so wild with a nature festival from August 13th through the 15th. From educational programs designed specifically for youngsters and adults to guided hikes in the New River Gorge along with adventure activities.  Fayetteville’s Wild Weekend will offer a variety of activities and workshops for all ages and interests. Come and celebrate the features, creatures, and culture that make Fayetteville the unique place that it is. Stay tuned for schedule updates as more events are finalized. Enjoy activities from nature paddle boarding tours to salamander talks. We will have a nature market and educational booths set up at the Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureau.
