Fayetteville Celebrates Women’s History Month: Highlight Kim Maxwell

March is Women’s History Month and to celebrate we are sharing stories about some of Fayetteville’s finest ladies. These women are prominent members of our community as volunteers, leaders, business owners, etc. These women are the backbone of our town and we are excited to share their stories.

“She is always giving back in the community, she is employing 11 people with her growing company, and giving free cleans to other fabulous ladies in the community. She is a leader and a blessing to so many people. She definitely deserves the recognition. She’s hands down the best boss I’ve ever worked for, she actually cares and makes a difference in all the lives around her”, said Kelli McGrady Lots of folks have kind words to say about Kim and all she does for our community.

Kim is a staple in our community and the owner of Suddenly Spotless cleaning company. We asked Kim a few fun quesitons.

Who inspires you?

I couldn’t begin to name all of the powerful women who inspire me to challenge my own limits and shoot for the moon, but Debra Fragala-Pories has been a consistent inspiration and mentor for me throughout my adult life.

Could you share a fun fact about yourself?

I eat really weird food (according to my kids) like chips and butter, and sauerkraut and mayo (yes, together). I get it from my dad.

What do you love about Fayetteville?

As for Fayetteville, the mountains called me here and the people kept me. I would happily tell you a hundred names of people who are what I love about Fayetteville.

Thanks for all you do Kim!!!

If you have someone you would like to nominate for us to shine a light on, email us at info@visitfayettevillewv.com.

Fayetteville’s Egg Hunt (Kids)

Saturday, March 27, Fayetteville Town Park

The Fayetteville Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting the Fayetteville Easter Egg Hunt. Join us for a fun-filled day of egg hunting in Fayetteville! The egg hunt will be free for all kids. We ask that you bring a basket or bag to gather your eggs. Kids will be separated into appropriate age groups for the hunt with limited group sizes. You must pre-register for the egg hunts so that we can follow COVID Guidelines with limited participants in each hunt. We ask that participants(2years+) and volunteers wear masks while participating unless you have a condition that prevents you from wearing a mask. There will be a 10 egg limit for each participant.

In an effort to make the egg hunt more accessible we will be hosting an all-inclusive hunt before the main festivities. No one is excluded from attending the main hunt and no one is required to attend only the accessible portion, it is just an added option for those that may find the hunt more enjoyable with a smaller crowd and less sensory overload. We have made modifications for this hunt with areas that will be wheelchair accessible and we will have a number of beeping eggs available. Participants will receive a color card and will be on a mission to find 10 eggs that match their assigned color. For those that are high risk or do not feel comfortable, we also have the option for goodie bag signups. Participants can receive take-home bags that can be picked up at the visitor center. If your child has food allergies candy eggs can be traded in for one prize from the prize table at the end of the hunt.

The hunt will take place at the Fayetteville Town Park 330 Park Drive Fayetteville, WV 25840

We will meet at Shelter #2 between the basketball court and playground.
