Come hang out at the Great Googly Moogly every Wednesday from pm5-6pm. Brian & Drew from the kind Thieves will be playing live music out front of the store. This event is weather permitting.
Shop Small Business Saturday in Fayetteville
Tis the season to shop small in downtown Fayetteville, and it all starts with Small Business Saturday. While known for its outdoor activities, Fayetteville is a great place to come shop small all year round. This year businesses are getting creative with curbside, shipping, online and shopping by appointment so you have more ways to shop local this year. We have updated this weekends deals!
Opening of The Royal Powerline
Join us on Saturday, November 28th for a day of bikes and beer! We will be opening our new jumpline, The Royal Powerline. This was a collaboration between the Arrowhead Bike Farm and Camp Royal. We are so stoked to share these beautiful jumps with everyone! In the evening, our taps will be taken over by our friends at High Ground Brewing. Come by for some warm fires, great beer and fun on bikes!

Active Southern WV Ugly Sweater Run
The Ugly 2020 Sweater Walk/Run at the Winter Wonderland Light Display, Fayette County Park
Active SWV in partnership with Fayette County Park would like to offer you a family fun way to stay active this fall. The fundraiser this year will span two days Nov. 29th, be all outdoors, and avoid any in-person group announcements. All information and announcements will be posted in this event page, or you can call (304) 254-8488.
$10 – per adult, kids 12 and under are free. Advanced reservations are required. Register everyone in your group here; https://fcpark.recdesk.com/Community/Program. Please email fayettecountypark@wv.gov if you need reservation assistance.

Come walk or run the Winter Wonderland Light Display on November 29th! Walk as little or as much as you like between 5pm-7pm. No pets permitted – service animals only.
Ugly Sweater Contest – Sport your favorite ugly sweater and snap a photo to participate in our Ugly 2020 Sweater contest. Email your photo to Info@activeswv.com by 12/1. Winners selected will be mailed a handcrafted metal ornament.
5K Race – Use a tracking app to record your 5K time. Share your results by emailing info@activeswv.com by 12/1. Winners will be selected by fastest times with some honorable mentions. Handmade medal ornaments will be mailed to the winners.
Most popular photo contest – snap some pics with your friends and family, post and tag @Active Southern West Virginia or @activeswv, and get the most likes for a chance to win a handcrafted medal ornament. Winners will be selected on 12/1.
Masks are required when you are within 6 ft of people not from your household, yes – even outside. Flashlights are recommended.
All participants are welcome to stop by the pool concession stand during your walk/run to pick up a complimentary holiday ornament for your family! Due to a limited supply, please limit one ornament per family. Masks are required when approaching and standing in line at the concession.
Participation Instructions
Please make a reservation no later than November 28th. The event is rain or shine! There will be a limit of 75 people on park property each night. There will be a 20-person minimum required for the event to be held due to staffing costs. If the minimum is not met and you have a reservation, you will be contacted. The event will be canceled if the county goes in the RED category per the Harvard University map.

Please arrive and park at the pool parking lot by 5:15pm. The park entrance gate will be closed at 5:15pm. All vehicle traffic is to be stopped by 5:15pm. Enjoy the lights and do not forget to collect your participant ornament!
*Help make this a safe event for walking/running by not driving between 5:15-6:15pm!
Please wait until 6:15pm to leave in your car. If you are done walking/running, please stay in your parking place until 6:15pm before exiting the park. If you are walking after 6:15pm, walk to the side of the road. When you are driving after 6:15pm, drive with extreme caution and be watching for foot traffic.
Don’t forget to pack a mask and flashlight!
Protect yourself and others! The light show will be on but keep your flashlight handy for darker spots on the course.
Active SWV will be collected donated winter coats at this event for local families in need. Bring your donated, like new winter coats to the concession at the pool.
Gnomevember is here!!!
The gnomes are back and taking over town. Embark on a scavenger hunt to track down Fayetteville’s gnomes to score a little prize.

The space
Brand new back deck was just built (7/2020) with a grill and all the tools needed. Kitchen fully stocked- oven , refrigerator, microwave, dishes, silverware, pots and pans and washer and dryer. Enjoy games & books. There is no TV, to give embrace being fully unplugged.
